Beto pees on himself and rolls around in pee and poop water. What’s not to vote for?

I am not going to say I eat all I kill, but I would say 80 percent.

Here's a solid tip from cleaning and eating a lot of males. It's true that occasionally you'll get one with tainted meat from the hormones (1/10), and that one will not taste great, and more often it happens with the big ones.

BUT. Much more often a boar will have gotten urine on its fur, and boar urine smells awful. Don't make a decision about whether the meat is no good until after you've skinned it. Throw a little in the skillet if you're on the fence to taste it. It's usually pretty good.

Then lot of pigs' lean muscle and ribs are still good even if the fat is not as good. Trim off all the fat and augment with grocery store fat cuttings. I put the cuttings in the food processor and make "cotton candy" fat to mix with the lean boar meat.

It's a rare pig that you have to completely throw away; usually for me those are pigs that were sick with one ailment or another (wasting away or tumors usually). I don't mess with any animal that was sick before I got it.

There are to many to kill to eat all of them or mess with a smelly boar. I prefer to only clean a few sows during the winter when they are in the best shape (fat). I’m not going to gut shoot one on purpose, but I’m also not passing up a Texas heart shot when they are running away.

I don’t necessarily have a size limit on what I eat, more of a smell test.
              I am the exact same.

I don’t like a boar with taint, but they’re not as common as I would’ve thought.

I believe those of you who say you’ll eat any of them. There’s a genetic trait that prevents approximately 25% (from memory) of the population from detecting taint.

I never intentionally shoot an animal anywhere except for a quick kill, but if a hog is running and I hit him in the gut, I do not care. Most anybody that does must not own land that the stinking bastages continually root up, run through fences, run off deer, etc. I have no empathy for wild hogs and no desire to eat them, but I kill every one I can.
This is why some people like to gut shoot deer when they get in their flower beds etc...

Just because an animal roots which is it's natural thing to do doesn't mean it knows it's pissing you off.. Geez.

I hate raccoons more than just about anything but I still wouldn't intentionally make them suffer and/or not care at all if I made one suffer.

This is exactly what anti-hunters think about most hunters. That they don't care.. And you're proving them correct.

When TP&W approves a poison for nasty pigs, I'll be first in line. I kill pigs, I hunt deer. Pigs are just really big rats with shorter tails.

That's a silly question. Heck yea!!

If they pass the smell test they end up in the ice chest/freezer. I've NEVER understood this "anything under 100 lbs or whatever" crap. I've personally eaten boars up to 200 lbs that tasted no different from boars/sows under 100 lbs. It's an old wives tail!

I believe it's wrong to intentionally gut shoot any animal to have it suffer a miserable death. It's just lazy in my opinion. Kill it quickly and get off your lazy butt and go dispose if it if you dont want to eat it. I get they are a nuisance animal but they still shouldn't suffer intentionally. As hunters, we're better than that.

I'm ready for my chastising now.....

100% agree. It breaks down to pure laziness. No excuse for downright cruelty to any animal. That's bad juju right there.

So for the animal cruelty bunch, where do you stand on coyotes?

I thought you were the animal cruelty bunch

But to answer the question, I don't gut shoot those intentionally either.

There is more than one reason boars are castrated. A rutting boar will stink. The stink will be all thru the meat and there is nuttin will take it out. Cut off it's dolollys when it's young and it will taste like any sweet sow. Also a rutting boar will smear that stink on other hogs and make them stink. It's what they do.
