I am in a new stand set on our farm in Southeast Iowa. Heavy frost this morning. 34 degrees. Getting ready to see a beautiful sunrise and hopefully some deer.
Im in a tree in San Augustine county. The Elite is locked and loaded! We had great movement yesterday morning but no shot opportunities. Seen 15 deer between 3 of us just in the morning sit yesterday.
Those three does we call the sisters - I griped about them last year - busted me again. Im in a krivo, one window open, ozonics pumping but no matter the direction they manage to get downwind and spook. Im about to just admit defeat with them and come back in a couple weeks with the rifle
Problem with one buck counties. You have to let these mature 8’s walk if you want to shoot a bigger mature buck. If I had a second tag I would’ve released an arrow on him. Beautiful morning to be sitting.
I'm not on stand. But the better half is this morning and yesterday afternoon in preparation for next weekend's opener. She said she was covered up in deer yesterday.
She wants to get a little time in watching where they come from and get the jitters out of her system.
Houston County.
Nine does at the feeder and a nice buck fight in the pasture this morning.
