Well, I sure missed a pretty morning and will miss a perfect afternoon too... Started early this morning tearing out walls in my office at home... A/C unit evaporator pan drain plugged and over a long period of time soaked the walls, carpet and sub floor on one corner of my office/man cave... Big mess!!


Sure enjoyed the verbal pics you all posted this morning tho! Kind'a makes me feel better living the hunt through y'all.
Congratulations to the successful hunters (AND huntresses)! Hope y'all shootabiggun this evening!!

Man, that’s awful. I’m sorry to hear that. Hopefully I can wet an arrow this evening and share some pics. Hope you get all that taken care of soon.

I WAS so geeked yesterday. Going to the lease this morning. Taking Monday off for along weekend hunt. So, i've been having on again, off again, issues with "check engine" light on the truck. Had is serviced a few weeks ago. No issues, until last night. The light comes on. Screw it, i'm going. Not so much. The further i got away from Ft. Worth, the worse the truck ran. Turned around and took the truck to dealership for evaluation. Naturally, they can't see it until Monday. I'll be pouting here at the house for awhile. Oh well. Such is life.

Congrats to all the hunters that were able to get into the field and enjoy the day. I did talk to the rancher. He took his grandson out this morning for the youth rifle opener. They saw one of our bigger bucks, but it was too early. The deer are moving. Have fun!!

Had a beautiful young 8 running around 4 doe. (Not the same one I rattled in) watched him make a scrap. None of them came closer than 80 yards. Then had something big walking along the fence line at about 300 yards, but I never got a good look at him. Now I’ve got two does bedded down 60 yards to my north... see what these last few minutes hold.

FIIINALLY!!! I was surrounded by about 25...let a couple of shaky arrows fly and missed...but they didn’t care...so i relaxed, and hit her...confidence restored!!

Settled in. Almost hit a boar on the county road before the gate. Last hunt of the weekend and probably until Thanksgiving for me. Should be another good morning. Good luck to all in the stand today!

I'm not on stand. But the better half is this morning and yesterday afternoon in preparation for next weekend's opener. She said she was covered up in deer yesterday.

She wants to get a little time in watching where they come from and get the jitters out of her system.
