How prepared are you for the opener??

Have everything packed in the truck, leaving work around 13:00.

Ready to relax at deer camp, drink some beer, cook some steaks & maybe shoot something.

I shot cactus yesterday to see if i could hit anything... I did pretty good.

Im losing interest in hunting quickly...its more about getting away and spending some time in the woods for me.....

reflection and some serious good sleep in my stand......I just enjoy watching wildlife....I doubt I will even shoot anything this year.....

I'm as ready as I can be given I've been avoiding doing a lot of work in this South Texas heat. That being said i'm feeling a lot better about my situation reading some of these other post lol

I’m usually pretty **** about stuff. I make lists and have everything planned out like crazy. Not this year. I got a new lease that has been a lot of work getting stuff going. Before I knew it, it was September. I feel really behind the 8 ball but I’m gonna give it a show anyway.

My sets are OCD prepared but the rest of my game has been lacking because I have been so **** busy. I have to miss the following three weekends after the opener so hopefully when its cooler, I'm back to my normal over prepped overshooting self... unless, of course, I kill this weekend

Only thing you need is your release a arrow with a good broadhead and your bow . Sharp knife if you get lucky pretty easy packing I think . People seem to overthink this hunting especially in the early season when it’s still warm have your snake boots a pair of boxers and one of your old faded camo shirts on and don’t forget the cooler of beer .

I feel like I’ve shot enough in my life that I could not pick up a bow for 5 years and still be fine for Whitetail hunting under 40 yards. But I still feel like I failed here too.
