How prepared are you for the opener??

I am one of those people who has selective OCD. When it comes to hunting and hunting trips I am pretty ocd. I want every detail planned. However I have noticed the last few years I have become much less worried about stuff especially when it comes to my in state hunting. I am headed to my grandpas place tomorrow in Childress. I still need to re fletch 4 of my 6 arrows, I have yet to check trail cams, I havent packed anything, and my bow is not sighted in. [emoji2369] I’ll probably shoot a giant Saturday [emoji23]

LOL I was just thinking about this as I sit and watch the Astros. I should be packing. Almost guarantee I will forget something. I have always studied game cam pictures, and sat and scouted at least a few weekends before. This year with the Anthrax scare, I really lost interest. Not every sure what’s coming in. I built a rifle tank blind for a lease member, so I am going to set it up. I may or may not sit. Lol

I got everything packed and ready to go. Cams are up and showing good sign, feeders are throwing and guarded, but I fell out of the mood yesterday so better get back in mood before heading out to lease tomorrow. I think this heat and forecast is pulling me back. I will be there though.

I’ll wake up about 30 min late. Put my boots on. Drive my CanAm 5 min across the road from my house. Walk 5 min to the blind I set up 2 days ago. Yeah....I’m ready.

the heat does not have me in the mood, yet I've still got out and shot some and checked equipment. Its required some effort this time though.

Everyone is talking about the heat. I don’t ever remember a time that I didn’t sweat my azz off during bow season, and many times even later in blackpowder season. I have no recollection of cool weather in early Sept in southern Oklahoma. Now in October, it starts to get pretty cool at night, but still too warm (for me) in the day time.

This year I have not been motivated at all. I didn’t get a picture of a buck until last week and he was barely 14” 6pt. Nothing has gotten me excited yet. I’m going up this weekend to my place but probably going to just be shooting pigs at night.

I’m going more to get out of Houston for the weekend. I absolutely hate the big city

Not too much these days, but I used it be all over it and always checking equipment and prepping and clothes prep, etc ... but my current lease doesn’t get me excited, I got my bow and quiver ready but I’m honestly looking forward to fishing Saturday, more likely then not I’ll shoot a pig because that’s all I got coming. Probably going to head back to the hill country next year to get me excited again

I am looking forward to filming this weekend. I plan on a few different videos. Here are some ideas I have. Trypan review, sevr review, Whitetail heart catch and cook, bluegill/bullfrog catch and cook and daily vlogs.

I'm like that with regular day to day hunting.

Trips are totally different, I'm all over it and everything is perfect.
