Fresh Water Amoeba hospitalizes my cousins daughter

I just left the hospital. She’s still with us but the Doctors relay there’s nothing more that they can do. She’s comfortable.

I had a friend who was personally impacted by this disease several years ago.

We no longer allow our 3 children to swim in fresh water if the temps are above a certain degrees. I also stopped doing my triathlons in the the hottest months of the year when the conditions are favorable for this amoeba

My wife is her school teacher. We’ve got prayers going up constantly, and we’ve got our church of thousands praying for her and her family. We aren’t sure what Gods game plan is here, but we have faith that He is good, and that somehow he’s using Lily in a way we may not understand for a very long time. I’m headed home to be with my wife now. If your family needs anything at all please let me know.
