The stuff at Lowes called Knock Out really works good. 1/2 the price of Round Up and it takes 10-18 days to kill so it would be good.

From where? I’ve been buying from Tractor Supply at $80 for 2.5 gallons.

Any of y'all have a report on how your no till plots turned out?

Go in management section and look at modified buffalo. There are my pics from this fall. Tons per acre I’ll bet I have about anyone in the state beat on 2” of rain. Spring plots were record setting as well

I mowed before I sprayed so I scarified the thatch with my box blade before broadcasting seed. Other than that these are no till.

I really hate borrowing stuff and breaking it.

I'd like to have my own but I'm not sure what to get.

I talked to Dan at Cosper Tractor and he said my weight and HP tractor could pull a five chisel plow but that seems very optimistic for the hard west Texas soil but if it did would do a much better job than a disc.

He has a powered small rotary tiller that isn't crazy expensive at around $1,500 but would be very slow to use, and at that price might be marginal quality.

I've seen some used disc harrows on Marketplace but if I have to replace bearings and discs am I really saving money over a $700 new 5'?

Tractor supply has some cheap implements but are they any good?

(for ref: I have a JD 5105 4wd that weighs around 6K with the bucket)

I'm working my clearings for Ag-use/wildlife exemptions. Cleared cedars last fall but needed to chop up the debris left and stir up top of the ground so I can plant this winter. Realized I needed a disc to get it done right and buying one was cheaper than repeating paying someone else to do it.
Decided on one from Titan, is a heavier square-tube built 5' disc ( they have a 4' and a 6') and the discs themselves are scalloped so they do a good job on new ground. And the hubs are greasable, another plus. Believe it or not, they freight-shipped this thing free, I used my tax-free exemption AND they gave me 5% off!

I ended up swapping tractors, buying a disc harrow and a chain drag, prepped and planted two food plots...

and we got 1/4” of rain in the last 6 months. Nothing growing.
