Make sure you have good scent control as well. Stomping a dead skunk works well to help if you can stand it.

Ha! Thing of it is, skunk is used as a carrier scent, meaning it absorbs and carries other smells with it, that's why it's valued by the perfume and animal lure industries. So not only would you stank the coyote would be able to smell you further thanks to the far reaching stank your wearing.

When does the new caller come out?

NONE of the electronic callers on the market today have the ability to go above 20,000 Hz, therefore they are ARTIFICAL sounds to the sophisticated ear of canines and felines.
Example, my recording equipment will record frequencies up to 96,000 Hz which is overkill. The very first baby cottontail we recorded went over 90,000 Hz! For this reason, we are in the process of re-recording as many sounds as we can.
okrattler, you are also correct that some coyotes that have been called hang up and swing wide to the downwind. However, we are finding that even the "call shy" dogs are more aggressive when they hear a TRUE prey recording or coyote vocalization.

mdeaso, You are correct and I have seen the "silent treatment" work on bobcats quite a few times. Unfortunately, I rarely see this technique working on coyotes.
I think one of the secrets to getting a coyote close to you is to keep him coming. It seems when one stops and studies the situation very long, he/she finds a "booger" and begins to show you more broadside as it swings to the downwind.
For scent control, I have been using "Predator Death Grip" by Texas Raised Hunting Products. While I do not think that any product is going to completely mask human odor, especially to a coyote, I do think that it can buy you a second or two, maybe a little more. An additional two seconds on a called in coyote can be all you need to get the dog on the ground.
Since I am using hand calls more than in years, I feel that it is more important than ever to use a coverscent. I am spraying down with Scent Guardian and then spraying the Predator Death Grip downwind of my cameraman and myself. I sure hope that I am not smelling as badly as the PDG.....
            Thanks and Adios,
            Gary

Tejas Wildlife, tweeking remote as I want it to be simple to operate and designing packaging at this time. We have tested it and getting frequency levels to 47,000 Hz which is a little higher than what we expected. The speaker is designed to go to 45,000 Hz.
              Thanks for your patience!
