Hunter Safety Card Question

Took me two tries also. It showed me the same error message. I left out my middle initial on the second try and then it came up.

I guess it's new this year, but read in the book today that law enforcement, active duty and honorably discharged veterans are exempt from even needing hunters education. (In Texas) I qualify for two out of the three, but took my hunters ed 20 yrs ago and see my number printed on my licence every year. Haven't been asked to produce the actual card but once, maybe twice.

Pretty sure it states you have to have “proof of hunters education” . It doesnt say you have to have a physical paper card on you

This is correct. As long as your hunting license has your hunter Ed number on it that’s all you need

Mine is listed on my license each year. Not positive, but I'm guessing that will suffice as proof.

I'm not leaving it to chance. I went ahead and printed it out and placed it in my wallet. I also have the number on my hunting license.

Thanks for pointing that out. I just checked my new license and my HE# is on there. So I’m good to go I guess.

Yes. This is correct. You do not have to have the card.
