Last weekend was rough. Put in 20 miles and heard 2 bugles. Saw 7 other hunters and one bull being packed out.
Decided Wednesday I needed to leave work at lunch and try mid-week. Had 5 different bulls bugle, but location and wind killed me. Did have another spike at 41 yards and couldn't tell if it was a spike or cow for a while.
Going back in this weekend, hopefully it won't be too crowded and the bulls wanna play.
How's the weather and di you ever get a chance to sneak back into that area?

Weather is better for now. Supposed to get snow this weekend (highs in the low 30's and lows in the mid 20's).
Did get back in there, but the forest service has been doing surveys on the road, they're going to start logging in the next year or two.
Did go up behind the house ( draw unit for branch bulls) and got close to a herd of about 20. They were coming over the ridge as I was trying to get to the top. Got caught out in the open with no way to get close. The wind was in their favor, so following them was out. Gonna go after them again after work.
Here are some shots from that hunt and one from the spotting scope of the bull.
