Zapata County also was noted for excellent whitetail genetics, Northern Sector bordering Webb, before the Uber Commercialization of the Triangle. It's ironic they call the Golden Triangle South Texas....it's realistically SW Texas.

Some of those early year bucks....from Rancho Paisano, Webb County.

Ranch Paisano is one of the Walker families 250,000 acre Webb County parcels. They also have 100+ in Mexico and another 100+ near Alpine in West Texas.....I work for them

When folks like this hunted there.

It's all semantics... you can grow big deer anywhere if you put your mind to it...
          lol Good stuff.

I always considered it to be port arthur, beaumont, to orange. I lived in Groves. It all connects into a triangle if you draw lines..lol

The name sounds like a marketing gimmik by a sports writer to get people to drive down to an area that has nothing else going for it besides deer hunting. Takes 100 acres per head of cattle so that business is difficult ..lol

                      You mean 57?

Everyone calls it something different I guess (they have to get their place in).

                      Doesn't really matter nowadays...

Frio is cranking out deer like never before...

                      Mcmullen is popping big bucks...

Duval occasionally (but man that country is rough)

Live Oak, Bee, Starr, Kennedy, Brooks etc are all pushing out some decent deer...

We are on the Medina/Frio county line. Hopefully the bucks will come on to our fifty yards of Frio County.
