Yes it has, it will only get worse as time goes on. It's all about money.

It’s tough when you make all these improvements to the lease and have someone else enjoy your hard work. Then again it’s is someone else’s property they’re ruing to make money I’m sure they don’t care about all the work that has been done. I too would want to make a lease more comfortable and better but I keep in mind that I’m just renting a spot. It’s like renting a apartment, you’re the new renter you fix it up, paint it, new tile etc etc just to have the landlord ask for more money or rent it to someone else for more because now it looks better. It’s a tough situation for sure. I hunt on a lease that’s not the best, deer aren’t the biggest or most plentiful but guys have been on the lease 30+ years. Everyone on the lease knows each other outside of camp. It’s all friends and relatives, we follow the rules keep the place clean, an respect and help each other out. The LO could probably get a whole new group in charge more but he knows he couldn’t truly trust them. The LO hunts with us as well. He has his cabin set up with the rest of us, so trust is a big thing with him. His son on the other hand, that’s a different story, the LO is getting old and his son will be taking over soon. He’s a bit money hungry so we will see how that plays out.

Good lease members leasing from good land owners have little to fear from a picture.

Having your pasture poached from a picture, that's a different topic unfortunately.

I know there was a former member here who used to post a lot of pictures of their ranch. Then they found out someone was poaching their ranch when they weren't there.

It's a darn shame that people will do that.

This is also happening on public hunts. Use to be no one but locals put in for the nilgai refuge hunts in South Texas. Now everyone wants one. Last time i got drawn, I met people from Illinois, Michigan, Arkansas and all over. More out of state license plates than a winter Texan retirement park. Lol, I don't own the parks or the animals, so I really don't care. But my point is that social media has decreased my odds of getting drawn drastically over the past few years.
Can't say that I blame them. If you showed me a section in Colorado that successfully produced OTC Trophy elk, I just might head that way as well.
We saw land competition and greed coming a long time ago. I have had several ranches price me out after I planted winter oats every year and fed protein. All the while only shooting junk deer to better the heard. Then to have them take it out from under me. That's why i finally just financed a piece of Texas hill country that I have loved for the past 13 years.
So if you lease, you have to eventually expect the unexpected. You will eventually loose that lease you have worked so hard on. But until you do, good luck.!

Game warden showed up a few days later and took it from him. The deer had been on a high fence property about a mile away. He had a mess on his hands trying to prove that the deer was killed on his property and not poached.

Both of the items you brought up are a big fear of mine. We are improving the deer so much and it can just be taken away in an instant but it is not my land so it is what it is.

I just had a friend that they got kicked off of their place that they had been on for 30+ years when the guy they had been dealing with it gave it to relatives. Once again, I get it but it sucks.

take care of the land owners property, any "improvements" need to be reimbursed or easily removed.

it's the same as renting a house, it's only yours temporarily.

On the thread topic, the last lease i frequented allowed pictures of deer that were killed, but not the name of the ranch. we generally used generic areas of the land for photo ops and kept the location to a region, i.e. West Texas

Game wardens have remarkably broad powers in the State of Texas to seize game animals or animal parts.

if said game animal or parts are in your house... I don't believe a game warden has any more power than any other LEO. They can go on your property due to that is their jurisdiction(hunting area)... but don't think they can go into a house.

They just need probably cause, and that gives them a lot of latitude to operate. As far as entering a home you bet your *** they can. I saw one do it for no other reason than it was farm house where some of us were staying opening weekend of dove season one year. We weren't even inside at the time and he left the front and back doors wide open. When we came back some stray dogs from up the road had decided to make themselves at home.

No...they don't just need probable cause...they need a search warrant.

If they went into your farmhouse(in Texas) without permission or a warrant no extenuating circumstance...that would have been an illegal search.
