Luckily he just laughed and said we don't need to worry about him leasing to anyone else.

Has anyone had their lease rate go up by the landowner? Or have you had problems with people finding out where you hunt, and then trying to lease land out from under you by going to the landowner and offering them way more money?
The group has changed over the years, but essentially it has been leased by the same "group" for 30+ years

Happened to us 2 yrs. ago. LO's son who never hunted in his lifetime saw what we had done to his dads property after managing it for 10 yrs. We fed yr. round and increased the buck to doe ratio. Also the quality of deer and amount of deer got extremely better over a 10 year period. He decided that he was going to start hunting and also leased it to his buddies for double the amount of money we were paying. The biggest mistake was when my dad showed him some TC pictures. Oh well,God led us to a better small lease we currently have.

There was an issue years ago where folks were posting TC pics and their bucks were getting poached. I imagine that still happens but if you've been here long enough you'll notice the guys shooting big deer every year don't share like they did 10 yeas ago.
Imo, folks tend to overshare in moments of excitement.
