    Carbon de Mesquite from HEB. Its cheaper than B&B. B&B is hit and miss on consistency of their size because its all imported in and they are having problems with the handling of their product.

        B&B is easy to get but if I had a steady supply I would use the Kamado Joe brand.
        If you had the time you could make your own pretty easily.

            As most are saying above. B&B is the best I have used. Here in Lubbock academy sells it in different wood types. I stick with the hickory. I noticed last weekend they also have a competition style that is formed into hollow logs about 6”-8” long. Almost bought some to try but stuck with regular lump this go around. Wonder if that’s how they use up their smaller chunks?? Probably try it next time I need charcoal.

              The big green egg charcoal is made by royal oak, I use royal oak and B&B , I find it works best to have some small and large chunks ,
