Above average IQ, but such an idiot

How is it possible to have an IQ tested above average, but do something so stupid? ( retorical question )

Bought a boat from a Tbhr yesterday. Signed all paperwork, titles etc. All good. Put it all in one zipper pouch ( from seller ) and took it home. Decide we want fo run it this morning, so headto Conroe. Registration is out by a month and figure the chances are good I will get stopped so bring the paperwork to prove ownership. You can probably see where this is going....

Put the packet on the deck with a bag of stuff on top so it doesnt fly out ( instead of securing it ) and get going. Get going straight from the ramp and my son grabs the bag so it doesnt blow out and......yep...entire freaking packet goes into the water and sinks immediately. Title, manual, transfer papers all on the bottom of Conroe. I cannot believe I did something so dumb.

Be gentle, only telling yall this embarrassing stuff to keep me humble!

Yeah, Im pretty sure seller can apply for lost titles, but I doubt he is going to be too happy about it.

If the bag was sealed and waterproof, like a ziploc, you should have marked exact spot with something anchored to bottom and something that floats.

It would be very easily recovered with scuba gear.

Any paperwork should always be stored in a waterproof container in the boat.

Going to be a complete PITA to get everything replaced, but unfortunately it has to be done.

                  Pictures of said boat.

Man. I have screwed up waaaaaay worse than that. At least you had your car keys and boat keys. I have been stuck at the lake because I lost my wallet and car keys 150 miles from home. Now that really sucks.

At least you put the plug in, your boat could be down there with the paperwork.

                            This.

Might as well contact the seller and carry him to the Tpwd office to fill out all the stuff. Then taken him to the place single moms pay for college work. For the lunch buffet of course

And there are only 2 offices in Houston, Greenspoint and 59s and beltways 8.

The one is greenspoint is very close to where the single moms hang out. [emoji51]
