Stretching helps me most, just look up some stretches specifically for sciatica . That and a good chiropractor. My hips get out of place and it definitely makes it worse, my chiropractor realigns them and it makes a big difference . I’ve never used a inversion table but most say it has helped. Good luck!
My hips get out of place as well. I went and had our physical therapist yank my leg back in place like I have many times before and back pain went away like normal.. but about a week later THIS started bout the same time I started my stretching routine up. Maybe I overstretched something? I went to a good chiropractor one time just to try and see if it helped and seriously couldnt walk for a week...he made it 10x worse. I'm very leery of chiropractors now. I've been stretching it on my own the past couple days but it doesnt seem to be getting any better. I'll put some more ice on it and just hope it goes away soon! Thanks for the advice and I'll look into the machine!
I had problems back in '96. Ended up going to 5 different doctors, to which, only dulled the pain where I could live with it. After a year and half, my wife bought me a full body massage for Father's Day. A little lady in her 50's worked on me after I told her about all my troubles. Couple days later, I realized I had zero pain. Been good ever since.
I highly recommend a body massage. It might just get you relaxed enough to get whatever is putting pressure on that nerve to get off of it.
I found that stretching and core strengthening really helped me. I had horrible body posture mainly due to a weak core and once I started improving strength the pain in my lower back and nerve in my right leg went away.
Chiropractor was absolutely no help despite how cute she was. . .
I’ve got one as well on my s1 with a pars fracture (stress fracture). Went to a pain management specialist and they prescribed me gapapentin, naproxen, and methocarbamol which help very little. I then got an epidural in my back which helped for a few days then it came back 3x worse. Physical therapy helps temporarily for about a day then it’s back. Went to see an orthopedic surgeon who pretty much told me my only option was a spinal fusion due to the fracture which is allowing the disk to slip.
On the bright side for you, I was told the surgery for the bulging disk would be an hour long procedure and no big deal had I not had the fracture.
I literally have trouble walking at times and anything besides laying down in bed is a chore due to the severity of the pain. Everywhere from my glutes to behind my knee down to my foot which goes numb occasionally. Hope you find a fix!
