Hmmm...I guess actually it was the The Big Bopper version that I was laughing at on the radio. That would have been the right timing. (I don't actually have recollection of any of this.) But the version that I actually can remember hearing was Jerry Lee Lewis and came later. The later Jerry Lee Lewis version is probably what prompted mom to tell me the story.
