This HAS GOT TO BE one of the greatest posts on TBH, or at least one of the most timely!!! Congrats sir you are definitely among the NON conforming Americans.....kinda wierd ain't it! Just think how fast you are going to be able to stack up cash!!! Just think..... rising college costs are not even a concern!!!

When times get tough like they are now, there isn't anything I can think of that will put a warmer feeling on your mind in knowing that you don't have to worry about a roof over your family's head. .

God knows that is right!!! Even in a worse case scenario, if you lose your job you can make ends meet with any kind of employment! Nothing like being in total control of your livelyhood!!!

we payed our place off a few years back then started paying off vehicles now were dept free.Get one done then the next & it gets easeyer, then try to pay cash for everything & stay dept free.

You nailed it!!! We are debt free except the current house but are about to start building a new one so we are holding the "payoff" amount in the bank. Not owing anyone is a beautiful thing.

AWESOME.....my last payment will be April.....then we BOTH will be un-american.....LOVE IT!
