I can't honestly say I've ever seen these on my lease. Hmmm.

So what part do you toss into the wind? The little flower bloom?

State mowed them a month or so ago. So they are short. But will bloom several times a year

Interesting, i'll have to keep my eye for some. I was oblivious to the fact they even grew in our region. Ive always wanted to use some.

Look in the link in post 721 for photos of the pods... it's the little seeds inside with fuzzy cotton-like fabric attached to them that makes 'em float around like little parachutes... Cotton fiber will do the same thing, but it is harder to see than the milkweed seeds...

Does are starting to pop. A friend just sent me pics of a good deer he was watching tending a doe. I walked outside and there was a buck tending a doe right out front of the house. Happens every year about now eighty here.
