Controlled decent lures work the same way.

Maybe in clean water, but you try working a Corky or similar lure in floating loose grass... This Grasswalker TSL lure will fish circles around anything else I've ever tried in that situation... I know you can work controlled decent lures in grass beds when the grass is fixed/growing on the bottom, but when currents/winds break the grass loose and it is floating throughout the water column, your choices are very restricted. This lure works great in such conditions...

In tobins videos, he talks about walking the dog with it. I have yet to perfect this. Mainly just work it with a slow steady retrieve and a twitch... twitch.. any advise on how to walk the dog with it?

I'm on the Pro Staff and I can tell you the lure is a game changer especially if where you're fishing is grassy.

I hook mine as in the pictures above with the hook exposed and lying flat against the back of the bait. It doesn't catch grass but your hookup rate is better than if it has to punch through plastic to get to the fish. You want the tip to lay flat against the bait, not poking up or it will catch grass.

The bone and pink colored lures have produced well for me.

Do they work better than topwaters early morning or should I start with a topwater then switch to the grass walker?

Used them today for the first time, caught some keepers and lost two fish. First one I lost for not setting the hook hard enough, second one I lost was a big mid twenties trout probably weighing 5-6 pounds. I felt the hit so I reeled down and when I set the hook line got tight, rod bowed and drag peeled then my leader line popped. Reeled in the slack and just as I grab my leader the trout goes airborne and spits my hook along with the lure out. She Sat on the surface a couple seconds then swam off. Would’ve been a great fish if I’d had landed it for such a slow day.

Sucks you like the big one, but Atleast you caught some fish on them.. did you walk the dog with it? Or how did you work it?

Nice, how were you working it? Did you thumb the spool? Or set your drag tight?

I walked the dog and I also used a soft twitch twitch pause cadence. Twitches were very light, that’s when I hooked the biggun and also some other small ones.

For those that use the lure which colors do you like the best? I had my catches on the golden roach, didn’t try the bone diamond yet. Looking to add some more colors and want to know what y’all are using.

Just left the store with a pack of birthday suit. They said roach, chicken on a chain, Bone, and birthday suit is the ones they like the best

I have roach and bone, guess chicken and birthday suit are next on the list. Was thinking of the plumtreuse since all other lures that color catch fish but maybe I’ll skip it for this next go around.

I can see flounder eating the tails off of those on a regular basis.
