Ok guys so after fishing the trout support lure over a day and a half I have my intial review done.

The lure cast great and extremely far probably 10 yards further than a spook jr, I used several colors and had fish on most of them. I fished it on a tk140 swim bait hook shaped as Tobin recommends. My hook up ratio was at least 90% I only didn’t hook 1 fish that hit.
I really like the lure a lot and plan on keep using it. I found the hook set not needing to be much more aggressive than anything else.

Did you have any of the screw locks on the hooks break? First fish I caught the screw lock broke, I burn through hooks faster than I do lures with this bait. Went through a whole pack fishing one day.

Very nice. I was wondering how you did with them, how did you work it? I was also wondering about the hook set

Good to know about the screw lock, I was wondering if they would create a issue since they have a gap and not closed

Do they work better than topwaters early morning or should I start with a topwater then switch to the grass walker?
Depends on what the bait is doing honestly. I still like a small noisy topwater bait early in the morning but I've caught fish on the Grasswalker at all hours of the day.

There is a new color coming out that I am testing this weekend but I'll let Tobin say what it is when he releases it. It's one of my favorite colors and I think it will do well.

If you fish a Corky you know to wait a pause after you feel the fish thump it and then set the hook. If you set the hook too early you're chances of missing the fish or having it come unhooked are pretty good.

Anyway it's a fun bait to fish and experiment with different hooks and see what works best for you.

Well I honestly did not catch many fish but not due to the lure. I love this thing for sight casting reds for sure. I worked it every way possible and that’s the beauty of this bait I did everything from aggressive walking the dog on the surface to a slow twitch sink, I was mostly only fishing less than 2’ of water.

I thing closing the screw lock might help some and/or finding a hook with a smaller screw I had a somewhat hard time centering the screw lock in the tip of the bait.

I don’t fish as much as I use to, but Tobin is a great guy. I did not know he was making lures now. Gonna have to pick some up. They look great.

Then you need to go get your eyes checked!

I have hours and hours of fishing time in with this lure and have never lost a tail on one yet. Not specifically target flounder yet with it, but the ones I caught were hooked deep in the corner of the mouth as such a wide gap hook would normally do... The key to success on this lure rigged weedless is to put that pause in your hook set for the best hook up. It is a light lure and when a fish inhales it like flounder tend to do, it goes in deep enough they don't bite the tail. Also, don't know what type of plastic Tobin uses, but these suckers are a lot tougher than a typical tout or coccaho or other paddle tail type of bait... Only thing I've caught that really tears 'em up are Spanish Mackerel and dang LadyFish...

Just got home from the deer lease and fished these for the first time. Used the birthday suit color and worked it right under the surface and caught 10 on the same bait, no issues with hookups. Used braid and my medium light saltwater rod and I only missed 1 fish, which was my fault. I’m really liking these especially when there is grass around. The grass was so bad, the only baits we could use was frogs or these and the grass walkers had more bites than the frogs

This lure is a different type of plastic than typical soft plastics. It is way more durable.

You can buy packs of just the springs from Owner. They are pretty cheap.
