My buddy tried to grab the boat trailer winch handle when the boat was slipping back into the water. 4,000lb boat vs his hand did not look pretty, he was hurting.

I always rig up with double pulley, takes a hour to winch up or down but moves slow. I also don’t try to catch, cheaper to replace mechanism then go to doctor.
