I’ve got away from winch ups completely... stand and fill is the way to go.

Had same thing happen. Converted everything to stand and fill. Had you been directly under it things might have been much much worse.

That is why I would only use a Brake Winch or Worm gear winch for lifting & holding weight. I'm glad it didn't end up worse

This if I owned one but I can not stand those types of feeders. Stand and fill is all I use these days.
