Tagged for later. I need to buy better tires here pretty soon.

What I really need is a tire that has a thicker wall so I can stop getting mesquite punctures in the shoulder of the tire.

My buddy runs Michelin a/t on his duramax and never wears them out before he does a trade in, about 70,000 he loves them,
They are to street for me, but his truck is quite and reliable

I thought it was just my tires. In the past I had good luck with BFGs. This is my last set, barely 25,000 also.

I've always had great mileage out of the older BGF KOs on my 3/4 ton work trucks and my personal truck. 60000 on two sets that were beat down crappy oilfield roads. I had planned on putting them on my new F150, but I may look at others now.

Ridge grappler. They are very smooth/quiet for a tire that has mud capability.

Nitto Ridge Grappler, I’m right around 77,000 miles on my current set. I’m in the oilfield so they see plenty of highway and plenty of lease roads with towing mixed in as well

I have been looking at tires for my Chevy 1500 also. I like the way the Goodyear ultra terrain look but in the 275-60-20, they are SL. Does any one know if they are only 6 or 8 ply tires?

If you want a semi-aggressive look and a great ride go with Nitto Terra Grappler G2’s. If you want an aggressive look and still have the great ride get the Nitto Ridge Grapplers. I ran Terrra Grapplers for many years and loved them. Tons of mileage on them before I had to get new ones. I just wanted more aggressive tread pattern and look and the Ridge Grapplers fit the bill and have been awesome. Ride so smooth for the aggressive look and are wearing very well. Nitto all the way for me!

They're a bit more aggresive, but I put Nitto Ridge Grapplers on my F150; over 20k miles on them now, and they're not showing any signs of wear. If they keep going like this, I wouldn't see an issue getting 80k+ miles out of them.

I buy about 2 sets of KO2s a year. On my newest set I’ve only had a few months I’ve got 33k miles on and they still look new. I’ve gotten 78k and 84k out of two previous sets. The rest of the sets I got rid of the vehicle or passed it down to a field hand before wearing the tires out.

This is on my half tons though. I find they don’t last near as long on a heavy truck.

How is the road noise on Ridge Grapplers? I recently purchased a 2019 F150 and had it leveled. Currently looking to put new/bigger tires on. I previously had the BFG KO2's on my 2014 F150 that I never had any problem with. When I traded it in, the tires had about 40,000 miles on them and still had many miles left.

They do make a little noise, but not enough to bother me.
They're way more aggressive than the BFGs, so they're naturally going to make more noise.
