    HS Baseball Bat ?

My son will be a freshman next year. Back in the old days, the school provided bats for us. Now days I assume the player brings their own. What’s the common ones being used right now? Just looking ahead as I know we are headed toward BBCOR whether he makes JV roster or plays for a 15U team. Thanks

I'd take him to a sporting goods store and let him feel them - whatever feels good in his hands.

A lot of kids around me are still using the last years model of demarini Voodoo and should be pretty cheap to pick up somewhere.

He uses a LS select 719 drop 5 right now. Pretty decent bat. Just polling to see some of the more popular ones used in HS right now. Which ones are favored? Hold up well? I see the Marucci CAT 7 or 8 and also LS prime. I’m leaning away from LS as we had the solo 618 last year and it snapped clean into above the handle on an outside pitch. Anyone else with experience with a Marucci? DeMarini? Easton?

My Freshman baseball player is swinging a 32/29 Demarini Zen which he likes.

I see these during our games.

                Zen
                919
                Quattro
                Cat7 or 8

My son does not like the weight distribution or the sound of the Cat 8 and Cat 7.

He also does not like the Easton bats because he said he does not like the feel of the ball coming off the bat.

DeMarini for us. Have both the Zen and the Voodoo. Both have incredible pop. He doesn't like the Eastons either. I also see the Cat's, but he likes the feel/pop of the DeMarini's more.

I use an old voodoo for fungo for our high schoolers and I love it as a coach. This sucker has hit a ton of balls and still has a sweet sound to it.

My son swings a 2019 Rawlings 5150, 33/30. This bat is end loaded and has a lot of pop. I bought this bat for $199. Several of the other boys are using it as well, one has hit two HR's. When I picked him up from practice Monday, he told me that he one hopped 370. He is 6' and about 150 lbs at 15, a bean pole.

Is that a Voodoo one or balanced?

I have 3 boys. HS and college baseball. Marucci bats have been their choice. Great company. They help fund the Cajun navy every time they are needed.
