    I had a rat get in my tractor and chew all the wires off the guages.. I had to hot wire it just to move it.

      In South Texas we call them Pear Rats because they build the nests like that in Prickly Pear.... but yeah, Pack Rats.

                I had that very same near experience on a lease north of Throckmorton back in 2005. Only when I lifted the hood, I had a big female rat that just sat up on her haunches and looked at me like a starving pooch. She had a little of every thing within reach including prickly pear fruits. I bet she weighed near 4 pounds.

                                If you don't kill these bastages you will at some point have a vehicle with no wiring left under the hood.
