To me it depends a lot on deer density. Hunting around my house it is not uncommon to have 10+ deer at a time around a feeder. In that case I don’t want to be inside of 30 yards from it, just too hard to not get busted with that many eyes and noses. In areas where there are just a deer or two at a time I will move in to 20 yards or so.

Last spot I hunted that was directly over a feeder was about 30 yards away and I'd hand corn 12-15 yards.

I liked the feeder to keep them coming but the hand corn was key when I could actually hunt.

Now my spots are more on trails headed to feeders but 50-100 yards off the feeder all together. Again, hand corn

We hand corn 15-20 yards from the stand. But we don’t use feeders.

I generally place my stand(tripod,blind etc) 20 to 25yds max from the feeder when bow hunting.
