From what a guy that has been listening to the CIMA radio said, water supply issues, equipment failure, and wind shift are major issues. At least two fire boats are supplying water from the ship channel, but the amount needed is more than can be supplied. Just a pumper like I operate is 10,000 gpm. There are bigger ones out there.
Whoever is out there, stay safe. I volunteered again for tonight if needed.

A fire of this magnitude is probably more than can be safely put out. Just not able to flow that much water and foam. I’m no specialist, not even close and will never claim to be. I just realize how big this is and used to work around tanks all the time.

That is one ugly monster!
Lord keep all the men and women safe who are battling this terrible fire. Watch over them and keep them from harm. We ask in the name of Jesus our Lord, Amen!
Driving in this morning right at daylight from north side 59, it was a big scary cloud that seemed to cover the land. Looked like something you'd see in the disaster movies. Gave me the creeps!
