But she says you can actually pick it up with your fingers. I'm sure there a chemical reaction going on with the heat and mixing of products.

What? Heard numerous folks say nothing to worry about. It's all going high in the air and not effecting anyone

From what a guy that has been listening to the CIMA radio said, water supply issues, equipment failure, and wind shift are major issues. At least two fire boats are supplying water from the ship channel, but the amount needed is more than can be supplied. Just a pumper like I operate is 10,000 gpm. There are bigger ones out there.

Whoever is out there, stay safe. I volunteered again for tonight if needed.
I'm best friends with one of the cima owners. He just sent me a picture of one of his tankers really close to the fire and blocked in. Said what you said about the fire, but said it was hearsay

Mitsui actually owns the plants via ITC so the pocket books are plenty deep when/if checks need to be written...

**** proud of our guys. These trucks have been going through hell and back the last few days. Our guys are working their butts off and getting them back in service.

It’s just what was heard on the CIMA radio from incident command. I was relaying information.
A fire of this magnitude is probably more than can be safely put out. Just not able to flow that much water and foam. I’m no specialist, not even close and will never claim to be. I just realize how big this is and used to work around tanks all the time.

I’ve never seen anything like it. We are giving it hell though

That’s that fighting TBH attitude we look for. Just get outta there before they start rolling up the 5 inch hose!

I’ve heard both 8and 9 tanks now on fire. Anyone else hearing differently?

Prayers still up for everyone involved. I looked at that sunrise for 34 years from Shell in Deer Park.

                                That is one ugly monster!
Lord keep all the men and women safe who are battling this terrible fire. Watch over them and keep them from harm. We ask in the name of Jesus our Lord, Amen!

Driving in this morning right at daylight from north side 59, it was a big scary cloud that seemed to cover the land. Looked like something you'd see in the disaster movies. Gave me the creeps!
