Skunk rut is typically end of February. So first days of March ain’t far off.

I killed 15 at the dairy one night in high school. My dad called back home (before cell phones) and wanted to know what the @&$% went on out there last night . It would burn your eyes for 2 days on the property

Just about the same story. Old bird lease I was on had one piece of property that was almost exactly one section. It always had a lot of skunks on it. Also had quail. I took it upon myself to kill as many egg thieves as possible. The first night I killed almost 20 just riding the perimeter fence line on the 4 wheeler with the 17MachII. I got a call just like you a couple days later from the lease manager. He said you couldn't get away from the smell anywhere on the property.

Killed 3 more this afternoon in the same field. The skunks have had a pretty rough week.

I hate skunks for many reasons.
Trapped one this week and ended up stinking up the whole cabin yard.
