I found these rocks years ago while out hunting. They were in an area where a pond was being dug so no telling how deep they originally were. Naturally I couldn’t pass them up.

Rock or possible artifact identification

Don't remember he proper name for them, but the ranch we hunted out west had lots of 'em... A geophysicist buddy of mine told me what the were, but essentially they are rocks mostly of iron ore that were launched into the air as molten rock from a meteor impact. The rock cooled in the air before it hit the ground. If you look at 'em carefully, you'll find a "flat or indented spot" on 'em and that is the "downwind" side of them as they traveled through the air... Some also have flattened sides and those were still a bit soft when they impacted the ground... the crystalline internal structure is from flying through the air and being slowly hardened while under the magnetic forces of the earth's magnetic field. Some of these stones are actually slightly magnetic, most aren't...
