    Load Securement Problem

Got these today from another safety guy. How many times have you seen a rig with 4-5 straps holding an entire load down? This guy was extremely lucky to survive an accident like this one.

And yes, he is completely forward to the radiator area of the truck. Talk about getting shoved forward.

yeah that guy is extremely luck. Hauling steel is one of the hardest things to haul because its usually still coated in cutting fluids and awkardly shaped. The akward shape makes it extremely dificult to boom down. Also belly wrapping with a couple of straps would have helped him a litte bit. JMHO

Holy Smokes! Glad to hear he will be alright, although I would imagine a little recovery time might be in order.

He probably used to cuss the DOT for making him put more straps on.

I see downright frightening loads all the time and I've always wondered if there were DOT regulation's for such.

They need a stop in front of the load so when the brakes are hit it helps hold it back. That gives you some chills seeing that. Same thing for blinds, feeders or anything else you are hauling.

Looks like he'll need to buff out a scratch or 2.

Scary to see something like that. I see guys driving regular trucks with low boy trailers loaded with construction materials with not 1 rope/strap holding anything in place. I wouldn't make it out of a parking lot without losing half of it if I was driving half of what I see on a regular basis. I wonder how this stuff doesn't happen more often than it does.

2 belly wraps w/ a CHAIN & 2 binders--one on each side then 1 CHAIN for every 10 feet of load.
A headache rack is the law for ANY OPEN TRAILER including hotshots & small car carriers.
The absolute most dangerous loads to haul are coiled steel and livestock and swinging beef.
