Non-resident pig hunting license needed?

So you can’t eat an animal that is considered depredating if you shoot it without a license?
So if a farmer has hogs eating his crop and he shoots one and eats it he would be cited?
I get that you need a license when sport hunting but if you are going to apply the idea that you have to let the animal lay as the qualifier seems really stupid and a waste of natural resources, kinda like wanton waste does it not?

Yes.
If you want to shoot them without a license on the basis of “depradation,” I would have some proof in my pocket that money is being lost to the pigs... Signed by the landowner.
Nothing about that in the annual, but it’s what I would do. Or cough up the small donation to TPWD for a license.
