I think I may be able to find the pig I shot the other night. Got out checking cameras tonight with a strong south wind. I can definitely smell dead pig at the road, which is about 250 yards from where I shot him. Hopefully I can locate him in the shoulder high weeds along the swampy snake infested creek bottom. I've been watching for buzzards and had almost given up, thinking I doinked him. Hopefully he held onto my arrow and I don't puke too much retrieving it.
Found him in the best case scenario. Buzzards had eaten about half of him, but had drug the remainder into the creek. Arrow was loose and the fletching end was floating up close enough to reach from the bank. Nocturnal is half gone, and I'm missing one fletching. Tried to raise his head to look for cutters, but I started stirring up the stink. Didn't puke![emoji106]

Took almost 5 minutes from leaving house to launch an arrow tonight. Walked right up to the big boar in beauty berry. 17 yards. Looked like his shoulder I was aiming at.... apparently it wasn’t. Huge storm moved in so I had to push him. I honestly thought I heard him crash 40 yards in. Easy walking blood trail 381 according to google earth... and plenty more. Chest high bahai field that ain’t been cut yet. Have to trip over him if he even stopped in there. Walked in door as first drops fell. It’s biblical outside now
