    Aggie Ring Info.

After having to wait a full semester because I was one class short, I FINALLY get to order my ring this week. I was looking for some info. on the kinds of rings y’all have. I’m not ordering one with diamonds in it, but I can’t decide if I want the “natural” color or the “dark” color. The “natural” is the straight gold one, and the “dark” is much darker. Right now I’m liking the darker one, but I’m open to opinions. Will the natural color get some character and darken over time? What are your experiences with them?

Personally, I would cut my losses and transfer to Tech and get a real class ring.....jk I have a couple coworkers that are ags and I now know the associated "coolness" that the aggie rings have. All the guys I work with have the lighter rings, so whatever that is worth...

I think what you are talking about is called antique finish. That's what I got on my aggie ring 3 years ago. I like it because you cant tell if it is dirty!

I have the all natural ring with the big diamond. But I am a girl....
Personally, I like the all gold for the guys too, and I see/notice the all gold ones as apposed to the darkened ones...
The darkened ones remind me of a high school ring for some reason. But the still look nice.
Just a personal preference on which one you choose. Either way, you worked hard for it and looking at it everyday will remind you of the great school =)

I have the antique gold ring one, while my old room mate got the regular gold (lighter one).... His never really darkened that much but it sure does shine more when you clean it up...... It is a good conversation starter at job interviews especially if it is shining and catches an old ags eye.... However mine hides the dirt real well and any ag can spot an aggie ring even if it is 50 years old and his half worn down... Basically go with the one you like

ok.....if you get the dark one it will look like the natural ring in 20 years if you wear it 24/7 like I do (mine is basically stuck and I can't get it off)......the dark one is the classic ring that everyone got back in the day

I have the antique, but in a way wish I would have went with the all gold finish. The all gold finish has just grown on me over time. I went with the antique finish because I considered it the more "classic" Aggie ring.

I ordered mine with the antique finish. It looked small to me when I got it. I think the antiquing has that effect. I had the finish removed by a jeweler making mine just raw gold. The "natural" is actually a rose finish that has a little color in it, if I'm not mistaken. Mine was gold and a little different than everyone else's in that regard. I like it.

If I had to order one today, I'd have whatever finish they put on it removed, be it antique or rose.

funny story......when I got my ring you had 2 choices.....I asked my father in law (Class of 51) about it and he said when he got his everyone would tell the lady "I want the biggest, blackest SOB you have".......well the day came to order mine and the lady taking my order was a little old "blue haired" woman.....she asked me what I wanted and I just blurted out "I want the biggest, blackest SOB you have".....she just looked at me and started laughing.....I thought uh oh......the she said "I haven't heard that in years".....true story

Just checked the Association's site. It appears you can get antiquing, rose or natural. I would get natural if I had to do it over again.

My first one was antique, i thought it was to dark. my roomate was rose, i thought it looked much better. I used toothpast and tooth brush on mine until i got the shade i liked. After having that one stolen i replaced with the rose.

Mine was the rose until I had a jeweler remove that. Now it's natural and never leaves my hand. It seems like I notice the lighter colored rings easier.

Congrats, when I was in school you could still christen them at Chicken with a real pitcher of beer.
