2019 Saltwater Fishing Thread

Well my first tournament is officially in the books! Ended up with a 23.49 lb stringer and we were 2.5 lbs out of 3rd place. Weighing in a small red and not having a flounder for the stringer is what hurt us. I’d definitely say it was a success though. We had over 13lbs between our 3 trout!

Yes, I saw it. It was like one of the old Baymaster or similar hulls. They didn't put the plugs in and as the stern started under it just rolled over. I don't know who got it out or how but it was gone this morning.

It was good. We had 4 limits of trout by 9:00 or so yesterday morning. 4 limits of trout by about 9:30 on friday too. Todsy was a little slower but we scratched out a few trout and redfish. Pretty good weekend even with the crowd.

Well good luck! If you want to get on some good reds, that cove just south of the Pelican (houseboat) is a good place to start. They were hanging in the grass edges of the open sand spots. I did best casting so that I could retrieve the lure along the edge of the grass. Early/ incoming tide they were very shallow in knee deep water.

That’s not a flats cat, they are completely smooth on the bottom. Regardless, that is a bad weekend.
