That stingray hit can be neutralized with hot water, as hot as you can stand it... dry heat works too. Back when I got hit, I was down in 3rd pass/Mexico and our guide put me on our amphibious vehicle (The La Machine) and proped me up next to the air cooled diesel engine and let the hot exhaust air and engine block air blow across my foot for about 45 minutes... he told me to sit there until all the "blue" color was gone in my foot... It worked like a champ! Got back home and following week went to my Dr. for a tetanus shot JIC. He told me the guide did exactly what should have been done... The poison on those barbs is an enzyme-based toxin that is broken down by heat!Comment
