The circle works great. The cool thing is you can shut it off when mom is mad. Instead of hang on mom 5 more minutes she just kills everything. It does not block me. It is per device.

I decided to go this route yesterday. The behaviors of 1 person was restricting the internet for everyone with OpenDNS. Now I can lock down the one that needs it and everyone else can use the internet with no issue.

That said he was trying to get past it today for about an hour instead of doing homework. When I got home I mentioned the sites (mostly wattpad and youtube) that I had blocked because he was on them instead of doing homework and he was shocked that I knew. Funny how fast homework was done after that.

I think I'm going to like this device! Wish I would have gotten it sooner! I almost bought a router with it in and passed on it.

I used a belt when mine didn't mind. Didn't cost a thing. Worked great.

That came to my mind first thing, but it ain't my son, so.......

If the boy would work as hard on his homework as he does trying to get around the parental controls, we'd be in good shape. haha

It's really not what he's looking up as much as it is how it distracts him from doing homework. He's figured out a way to view google's cached version of the pages. Without blocking google, i'm not sure I can stop that. His school does A LOT with google classroom so I really can't block them.

The good thing is he had a school event about possible career paths so they could help direct him in electives for his high school and he said cyber security as one of his choices.
