You found someone’s Dad that had a Playboy subscription and if you got lucky some found another magazine. I today’s world it on the net. Just do stuff to slow him down so he knows you don’t approve but kids these days will have a way around most things

Yep that's all I'm really trying to do. Make it where the younger two can't accidentally get on something after him and get exposed to it.

Btw went with Linksys maxstream AC2200 router based on what was in stock at the Best Buy near my house. Just set it up. I can add the mesh range extenders if the router doesn't cover whole house well.

And the 15% for trading in an old router worked. They actually took an old wifi repeater. I had to show them the website about it because they hadn't heard about it.

Does he have a phone with a data plan? If so you're just spinning your wheels

Congratulations, I hope it works for you.

I drove 60 miles to the nearest Best Buy and forgot my old router the day I bought my Velop System. They said I had until January 12th to bring it in and they would give me 15% off.

That sucks. For me, I have 2 within 6 miles of my house. I actually forgot it the first time and came home to get it.

Wanted to follow up and share a few things that I've learned. First is to disable IPv6. A lot of parental controls have trouble with it.
Second turn off VPN pass through.

After those two you have a lot of ability to block sites and set time limits to keep a teen boy from going blind...

has he questioned why certain websites are not showing up now, or did he know beforehand you planned on blocking him?

He knew. We had the talk about what's appropriate and what wasn't.

I figured as much. I was hoping that wasn't the case and he came in all upset explaining how he was trying to watch a MMA fight and it ended in the middle of it, right before the "knock out".

Do you have all the search engines blocked?

I don't. He mostly uses Google to search for school related and memes that he can send his friends via school email. He tried searching for **** but those sites were blocked by category.

Hard to block Google and still be available for his school work. His school uses Google classroom for everything.

btw if you need a list of sites to block or allow here is a pretty good list to use with OpenDNS:
