Get a Stihl and do yourself a favor. I bought a new Poulan and took it back to home depot. It would not start after you killed it and tried restarting it.

Get the premixed gas as well. Had my Stihl for 3 years and easy to start.

Go pick up an ECHO CS-490. Mag case, lightweight, good price. At least a couple pounds lighter than a Stihl MS271/291. 5 year warranty.

For heavy, many hours of run time get a commercial Husqvarna, Jonsered are also good ones. For occassional use an Echo or Stihl would be ok. Our Husqy out cuts our friends Stihl in the forest.

I've never used premix fuel. I already have 3 other pieces of Husqvarna equipment and always mix fuel for them with Husqvarna XP Performance.

What's the advantage with premix fuels?

No ethanol and proper ratio everytime. I still mix when I get ethanol free fuel

They last for a couple years, ethanol free, stabilized. Obviously, they are not for someone who goes through a gallon a week (tree or yard service, etc), but for someone who goes through a gallon a YEAR, it beats the heck out of trying to find an ethanol-free gas station, or having to clean out gunked-up carbs.

Okay. Understood and think I'm doing right with buying ethanol free for all of my small engines and every gallon has Lucas added. I only burn a gallon of mixed fuel every 2 months on average outside of situations requiring heavy cleanup efforts.
