Our lease rules cull them at 3 1/2. Me personally I would cull no brow deer at 2 1/2

Are y’all shooting does carrying the trait as well?

If you have an excess number of bucks, I’d still start with the older age classes and work down with the the lowest scoring deer in each age class, regardless of whether or not brow tines are present. Or simply kill more does so you have less fawns going forward, and less bucks to cull prematurely. If your age structure sucks, you really have no business culling young deer at all.

There is parts of the hill country that a lot of bucks don't have brows .
        Copy that!
        I would shoot that buck.

But I have seen Mule deer that normally don't have brow tines, that have them!
Right Mayhem? The ATA's Mulies have eye guards.

Yes, for all intents and purposes.

Pour the protein to him. He should bust 115 in 3 more years.

Here's an old northern Oklahoma buck that my boy got on Wednesday. I'd say he ain't had no brow tines to speak of at any time in his life.Click image for larger version

That is the criteria we are using to cull because it is pretty prevalent in our herd - I think it is genetic and needs to be removed.

I think he's 3 YO and would cull that for sure.

I've never culled a mule deer for not having brows.......but when a whitetail comes along with out brows no matter the age everyone wants it killed on site with little to no regard paid to his frame or mass. I'm pretty sure TBH'er Shane made a post about short or no browed young buck that was killed as a mid to upper end deer later in the bucks life. A more recent thread was TBH'er rattler7696 uncle killed a 185''+ 6yr old buck they named lucky after another lease member wanted to kill him as a 2yr old small frame 7pt buck that was missing a brow. I'm not in any hurry to cull an immature buck with poor or missing brows, and to me it sounds like more of a reason for the general hunting population to abuse the term ''cull'' when referencing young bucks to kill them and wonder why later they never see any 6+ old bucks. Then go on to blame the shortcomings in age structure of their deer herd on the neighbors killing habits

Depending on what you’re wanting to grow.... he has a decent frame. Looks like a 3 year old. I’d be apt to give one one more year. If he doesn’t drastically improve I’d kill him. We are trying to let the 10+ point deer walk. Kill mature 8 or less points and junk deer. Idk what the rest of your herd looks like.
