No snow here but did have a sheet of ice on the pickup this morning when I delivered my daughter to her job in Shepherd. The 59 bypass was closed in Cleveland and all traffic was being pushed through town. I guess it was easier than trying to keep 4 overpasses covered with sand.
We have about 4 inches on the ground here in Mesquite and it just started snowing again. I think I'll just stay in keep warm. Y'all be careful if you have to get out in it.
A little disappointed in that so far we have gotten just ice and NO SNOW! I wanted snow so bad but it doesn't look good for the fluffy stuff here in H-Town.
Z7 Matt, great table. I was fortunate enough to have a friend from Dripping Springs give me an awesome 30" x 60" cedar table made from just 2 planks from a large tree for a house warming gift 4 years ago. It was unfinished, so I layered about 5 or 6 coats of satin acrylic on the top and then when the shaggy legs, like you have also, started to "shed", I found that several layers of acrylic on that bark will help the bark to stay on better.
You've put lots of sweat equity love into that table which makes it even more valuable over time. Well built, well done!
Thanks Pablo! I really enjoyed the building process. I had no idea that woodworking would be so fun and rewarding. I bet your table looks amazing with two big pieces on top.my wood all came from mccoys and lowes. I wish I could find some lumber like that. I never thought about putting a few layers on the leg good idea.
