Morning TBHer's, still drizzling here. Was sitting at the computer yesterday afternoon working on a project when I see movement out the window. I look up and a doe and yearling are coming from behind my storage building. I get excited and start to go get a gun so I can put some meat in the freezer. About time I stand up I see the orange collar around momma's neck. I call my neighbor down the road and ask her if her free roaming deer has an orange collar, yes! I tell her she needs to go out and call her before one of our trigger happy neighbors sees her. I go outside and her momma doe comes, she spooks and runs across the road then down the road and thru the gate and back into her home pasture. Safe for another day.
Sorry, no pics, the rifle was gonna win that decision.
Visiting at son's and daughter-in-law's......lurking in dimly lit living room with laptop since 4 AM trying not to wake anybody up. Us early risers gotta improvise! Have a great day, all
Home from a great weekend (despite the crappy weather), car is unpacked and been washed TWICE (really, really muddy!) It was great to see a couple more pieces of South Texas heaven.
Arrived with a message from the printer that the hoodies will be delivered here tomorrow and quite a few mails and pm's in my box. Going to try to answer all messages tonight and have the hoodies in Tuesday's mail.
My sinus surgery was a success, thanks to all the fellow TBHers that sent a few upstairs for me and the folks taking care of me. Everything came out very good but the doc did tell me again that I have NO sinus cavities in my forehead. Most of my problems were in my 2 sinus cavities on the right. Nothing going on in the left side. During surgery, he did go into the left side to look around and check things out. I was told that a "normal" surgery would last 2 hours, that's cleaning out ALL the sinuses; right, left and both uppers. He spent 3 hours working on me cutting and scraping. My septum had been pushed over against my left nostril and had to be removed and reshaped and replaced. There were in his words "very numerous pollops and fungus" inside my sinus cavity. Thankfully my family doctor didn't mess around when he saw was was really going on before he sent me for a CT scan and to an ENT doc. This is our SAME family doctor that orders ALL of his patients that have in the past or currently smoke to have a yearly chest x-ray. That is what saved my Mother's life almost 3 years ago. They found a spot on her x-ray, compared it with the year's prior x-ray and sent her in for a MRI and CT scan. Yup, lung cancer in her upper right lobe. Removed the upper lobe, had a very tough 2 month recovery, no chemo required though. She's been to all of her yearly checkups and still to this day is cancer free. That is one man that I always have on my prayer list. I cannot give thanks enough for what he's done for me and my family. I've got another follow up appt tomorrow for my sinuses and then I'm headed out west tomorrow afternoon until Sunday. Looking foreward to family, good friends, good times and good hunting. I hope that everyone has a Safe and Happy Thanksgiving! Take care and God bless!
Morning TBH, the coffee is great! Headed back to the TRNWR for another hunt. It has been a rough year down there as the deer are not playing our game. Good luck to all the hunters this morning.
