H was back at it Wednesday evening in Palo Pinto County and he dropped the hammer on a big ol wide 8 point near Possum Kingdom.

          Merry Christmas!

Classic, Tim. I had to send to my son who’s a builder.

Been wanting to explore the Palo Duro most of my life, and it’s as awesome as I thought it would be. My son, and even my wife love it too.

That canyon is a cool place. Glad yall got to visit there. I spent a few nights in it as a teen.

I’m about 90mi east of y’all between Hamlin and Childress tracking a pipeline. It’s definitely pretty country out here

How (and why) does one track a pipeline? Asking for a friend.

Layman’s terms we run tools called smart pigs thru the line that measure wall thickness, weak spots etc. of the pipe. We track them by going out before the tool runs and survey Above Ground Markers (AGM’s) every mile and place a wooden stake painted pink above the pipeline.

After the tool is launched me and some coworkers track the tool as it flows with the product via a listening device called a geophone and a visual program on a laptop that detects the magnets on the tool or the 22Hz frequency of a transmitter on the tool.

We record the passages and send them out on a text chain with operations so we can maintain a average speed of the tool till it comes to the end of the survey.
