I don't post much in this thread, for some dumb reason, but it's chock fulla goodness. The best of the species posts here.
Dane and I took some time tonight to get a gun rack on the Ranger. I've been putting this off hoping to come up with a well thought out solution. Overthought it, as usual. This will work just fine! The boy's a big help.

I beat the stomach bug last week. I would have a hard time wishing that on anyone.
Now I have the pink eye in both eyes.
Eyelids welded shut when I woke up this morning. I decided to just show up at the eye doctor this morning out of desperation without an appointment. She said it was really bad.
Prescription for eye drops filled and administered. I'm already feel better...I look like I went 30 seconds with Mike Tyson though.
I hope everyone is enjoying the nice weather. I think I feel "Spring Fever" coming on!

I mounted the cross on a small rock, put silicon dots on the bottom so it wouldn't scratch furniture and gave it to Mark. He wrote me a note which his grandson put in my mailbox thanking me for the cross and friendship and how while he was laying at home, he would look at it thinking about how lucky we are that we have the hope of Salvation.
I came home from hunting this morning and a neighbor came up to talk to me, and I knew it wasn't good news. Mark passed peacefully on Friday at home with his wife Barb at his side, and is now with the Lord above. I spoke with his son who lives a couple doors away from me, and they're taking it well, he said of anybody he knew who died, his Dad he was sure was with the Lord.
I am so glad I had the idea to make the cross. Or was it the Holy Spirt working through me? I'll find out one day.
RIP in Mark.

I love this pond in a state refuge and my will had my ashes spread in the treeline. Its a good place for me to pray. A neighbor and good friends was diagnosed with bladder cancer, and I made him the cross from a tulie plant which I'll dry and laquer to make a gift for Mark.

Sorry for your loss, Bill. Last Wednesday evening at church we had a large group discussion in lieu of a "service", wherein the bulk of the to and fro hinged on our not understanding illness, suffering, evil, etc. I came away further convinced that ours is not in this place. This simply is not our home.
I'm kicking the flu right now, while the rest of the family seems to be getting sick. Fingers crossed...

Got a long-awaited day off. Headed to centerville after I drop little bit off at school. Just had bacon and eggs (tired of microwave oatmeal).
Gotta replace the power converter on my camper and get the juice running before wife and daughter get there tonight.
It's always something. But I am blessed and greeting the day with a smile.
I hope y'all do the same.
