I think I'm gonna pick one up in the same caliber next week for my 9yo son and 13yo daughter. Im 5'9" and I've held the gun 2 times this week and it feels a little small to me so I'm hoping it will fit them.

I wish they had the .25-06. 6.5 is tempting

my 10yo shoots a Browning 7mm08 with no problem so I don't think the 6.5 will be too much. That 25-06 would be cool too.

I won an Axis in 243 and sold it because the trigger was so bad, looking back I should have done what you did!

My old man and myself have been shooting Savage Axis’ for atleast a decade, a .243 and a .270, respectively. Both shoot as straight and true as they did day 1 w/ Nikon Buckmaster scopes. Great gun at a great price. Don’t know anything about the scope but w/ $60 rebate is a bonus.

She says it kicks a little more than her 243. She got the Winchester deer season shells. It was on paper at 100 right out of the box. I tightened the scope ring screws (reviews on academy) before hand. I had two shots touching and one up two over two. After a few clicks of adjustment. Academy told her that it didn't matter the dates to send in the paperwork and she'd get her money. We'll see.

I picked up one in 6.5 yesterday. $279 plus $60 rebate plus $30 gift card is hard to beat!!
I bore sighted her last night and I'm taking her and the kids to the range on Wednesday!

I picked this one in .243 at a walmart on the way to the deer lease last month. Stopped in for a dvd player and walked out with a rifle. My wife had to have it. And loves it. Added a matching muddy girl pink camo sling
$199 on clearance, and the manager handed her a $20 bill on the way out the door for taking so long in the purchase.

Scope is cheap and will be replaced, but it's dialed in shooting 1" group at 100 yards right now
with remington 100 grain core lokt.

Interested in the trigger kit for it, as this model does not have the accutrigger and is not adjustable (yellow loc tite on screw)

Does the rebate apply to the youth model axis 1? hoping it is this will be a bigger steal of a deal if i get a rebate on it. I dont see anything about the rebate on the website

I was wondering the same. I have cabela's $$ and wanted to pick up a youth there. Not close to the deal you got. It doesn't say it is limited to purchase sites here.

I dug around on the rebate site and I couldn't find anything either. https://promotions.vistaoutdoor.com/
