    30 feet is ten yards.
    I think you missed his point. There are 3 feet per yard. To convert 90 feet to yards, you would divide by 3. 90 feet equals 30 yard.

      Because 90 divided by 3=30

      It should have said

      90ft divided by 3ft PER YARD =30yrds.

        So lets look at the speed of sound versus a typical compound bow speed of 300 FPS.

        Sound= 1125 FPS
        Bow= 300 FPS
        Sound will reach the intended target 3.75 times faster than the arrow.

        Here's some more numbers

        Time it takes for sound to travel 10,20,30 yards
        10yds- .0267 seconds
        20yds- .0533 seconds
        30yds- .0798 seconds

        Time it takes an arrow (@ 300 FPS) to travel the same 10, 20,30 yards
        10yds- .1 seconds
        20yds- .2 seconds
        30yds- .3 seconds

          Yes that makes sense.

            Beyond a shadow of a doubt they will have time to react to your x bow.

                I shot a buck last week with an old Excalibur recurve crossbow that shoots 305 FPS (first deer with a bow ). I aimed center mass and right behind the shoulder. The deer was at 25 yards and I used the 20 yard crosshair, which means the arrow should have hit lower than where I aimed. I ended up hitting him right where I had aimed, meaning he moved between the time I pulled the trigger and when he got hit with the arrow. I guess at the end of the day what matters is the FPS, not if it's a crossbow or a regular bow.

                  Yeah, I guess I was giving it too much credit.
