Test it out and see for yourself, you'll need that for your confidence boost either way. Doesn't take much to throw a target out and take a shot, if it doesn't work you have a nice spot to cut your hole.

I hang a piece of black mesh (tulle, think wedding veil material) from the ceiling a foot inside the open windows. Shields movement and when I raise the bow it get pushed up out of the way.

Much better to just take it.out and not worry about it.

For my specific situation THIS is the best idea I've read. On afternoon hunts the sun sets in my face and I feel like I'm illuminated even with black clothes and paint/mask. Thanks Gunny!

I've shot two deer through mesh, with a rage, with no problem. Shot several other deer and pigs with fixed heads with no problems. Don't really use pop-ups anymore...but hasn't been a problem. My problem is the decreased lighting and also the glare from the sun.

Never an issue. Xbow or compound.

I should have taken my own advice this evening but I didn’t have another curtain for a blind we set up today. The sun made it impossible to see through the shoot through mesh and I wasn’t able to score on a nice doe at 20 yards.

Genius! I'm going to try this.

That was in 2012 she didn't go 100 yards

I'd lower mesh. Why risk it?

Gotcha. I thought you were saying you missed. I like the "veil" idea for one of my blinds.

I shoot through it. I used fixed blades and feathers. We’ll answer this question again next year also.
