        Good luck

I walked away from the only job I had ever had as an adult to go to school for 2 years to start my new career

Walking away from the excellent benefits and knowing I would be taking a pay cut were the 2 biggest hurdles

A year into school I already had a position and was training for stepping into it as soon as I graduated
And I was a lot happier person

Currently I make more than I did before working half the hours I did
4 day weeks instead of working 80hrs over 7 days
No weekends and no night shift

And the big kicker, they shut the plant I was working in and moved it to Mexico which would have left me in a bind

I tell everyone I know that if they are not happy in their job, find something else

Good luck on taking the plunge. I ventured out on my own and started my own business 5 years ago. Really wish I would have done it sooner. Never been happier. It was scary at first for sure but well worth it. Sending prayers your way and good luck with your new path.

Go for it man! I took the plunge in June. Going into business for myself took me way too long. You'll love it!

I love reading all these stories of how you made a move similar to mine! I know this is the right move. I didn’t make this decision in haste. It’s tough leaving a secure job with guaranteed pay buy the risk out weighs the reward in this instance.

I’m working my last Saturday that I’ll ever “have” to work. The rest of my Saturday’s I work will be my decision.

Thank you for all the encouragement

I'm wishing you the best, but cautiously also advising you to have an escape route planned.

Many Allstate agents have found that being a captive isn't all it's cracked up to be.

or maybe it's just my stupid friends that couldn't make a go of it.....

My best friend has been an agent owner for 7 years. He is 5-6 years from semi-retirement. He is 35 years old. I have pretty good knowledge of what it is going to take to be successful and a huge support system

As before, I’m pulling for you, but the company has made some terrible decisions in the last few years.

I worked for them for a long time and had to make a change back in 2016.

                            Hope you kick its butt!

Congrats on your new adventure and I wish you the best. To semi retire at 40 is quite of a success story.

Congrats!! Better to try and fail than to look back in 20 years and regret never having stepped out and taken the risk.

I’m sure you will do great and it will get easier every year.
