I have and do all the above, problem is a lot of the area is rich in natural feed same as my place. They like corn but don’t love it or have to have it most of the time. I have a couple doe that have gotten pretty consistent and they are off limits on my place but not sure about the neighbors.
The entire area should be a whitetails dream but we have a pretty low density overall.

It all depends on if you live there or if its a weekend/recreational property.

I live on almost 50 acres on the Walker/Grimes county line. We run cattle on our place as well as my neighbors pastures. So we are always driving around on the kabota, tractors, 4 wheelers. They deer get used to it. We see multiple bucks every year, and have been lucky to take one and a doe or two every season. Deer density isn’t really great for this area. We feed 2 feeders year round, keep a pond right amongst thick bedding area looking natural and grown up. And we also plant food plots, roughly 5 acres combined. The last few years, we have seen higher quantities as none of my neighbors really do anything to keep them there.

We have been doing a lot of work on my place the last two months so it has kept some of the bucks that were showing away but most of the area is 10-70 acre places with quite a few houses in the area so I would think most of the deer are use to activity on a consistent basis. There is prob 7 house within 500-600yds of my place. It’s rural but a community style setting.

That’s what I’ve been missing, thanks JR. Do they have it in DD flavor?

Set up mister system. Two lines of misters running out from your bow stand!

I can’t help over your way my 50 acre place is out west and I have a 15 acre wheat field on it. When it rains and wheat grows it brings them in.

This will be my first year on my new 41 acre place. Been feeding corn and seeing lots of does and a bachelor heard once or twice. We’ll see I guess.

Same here, although I no longer live on the farm. But having a farmhand out there every day keeps them used to tractor and quad usage. Just as long as you don't stop near them, they don't worry about you too much.

Now any movement from a tree that is detected will send them bouncing and blowing but that is my fault and I can't blame them

That makes it a challenge. Because they see us regular, its like they know we are around even if they dont physically see or smell me. Always jumpy

My place is 45 acres of river bottom right on the edge of town (gate is literally 20 yds from city limits with a train track on the city limit side) lots of noise. I do occasionally sell fill dirt sand and gravel out of my place so I have lots of traffic. I run two corn feeders year round and all the fresh water they need. I'm in a coop MLD group and I'm overrun with deer it's nothing to see 12 + deer at each feeder almost every day.

Once they split up they look for a quiet place and we offer that. We’ve got roughly 6 acres of pretty thick woods that only the cows walk in. On top of that run acorn feeder year around and plant 5 acres of oats every fall. Going to get a protein feeder set up here shortly in hopes of drawing them in during the summer months as well because they summer down the road and right now we dont have any deer showing.

My property is long and thin so that doesn’t help. But we don’t access the back 1/3 of the property so I would think that helps. It very very heavy timber, in fact I had a guy come in with a hydro mulched just to clear some lanes and a few openings so it could be accessed.

I would suggest not going in there and let that be their sanctuary. If they have a place to lay during the day unbothered, that will help them want to stay on that property more. Hopefully you have an area outside of there you can try and draw them to.

I bow hunt 4 separate tracts of five acres or less. I hunt them sparingly and when I am in there I kill when the opportunity presents itself.

Keep cover thick in the middle of our woods, and we only hunt the edges. There is more than enough food to get by until after rifle season in our woods. The deer come out every night, we just figure out where they are coming out. I would bet we have more unpressured deer in the center of our woods than most guys do with hundreds of acres.

Once hunting season is over, we will go back into the middle, and we find hundreds of deer beds, and clear sign they are in there. But this is WI, where deer herd up once the snow hits. Hopefully before Thanksgiving this year!
