Actually I like Tejano music... it's a lot like Czech music and I'm married to a Czech.

What I don't like is people making me listen to their choice of music when I paid to be where I am.. Like at a park or campground.. Listen all you want... just don't make me listen,

Well.... unless you is buying the whiskey...

if you is... then play away...

Not sure about "everyone". Many of us understand who this land belonged to before the Revolution. And many understand the part former Mexicans had in that Revolution. And their contribution to this great State. Though I will readily admit, many assume the worst.

I realize your daughter is having her quinceria but that doesnt give you the right to blast music till 3am.
That has jack crap to do with their race. That’s just being an inconsiderate ***, which by reading your post I would say it’s definitely not limited to Mexicans.

If I ever have to move to another country, I'm changing everything and everyone there to be exactly like Texas. The traditions of their former country will be a distant memory and Robert Earl Keen will play in all public places.

Before anyone pulls the race card and starts crying again, my grandmothers maiden name was Mata, was bilingual and was as "mexican" looking as they come.
            I agree with you!

It does have to do with their race/culture. In their culture it is acceptable to do it. The neighbors just deal with it and have the attitude of well it's their night to party and I'll do the same when my time comes. The young children don't know any better. They almost find it courteous just to deal with it. When they come over here some dont know any better.

Getting older, if you make it will take care of 90% of your problems such as these and others. The reason being you will not give a rats _ _ s because there isn’t anything you can do about it anyhow.

So would anyone here ever move to another Country and expect the people of that country to learn English? Or not expect them to dislike Metallica if you played it loud on their beach?

Everyone probably likes Metallica so that may be a bad example. Pick a crappy American band.

But the point is I would think most here would never do it as they would know they are being rude. And I doubt you would ever even think any one else should learn your language or that they should write all signs in their language and yours because you know, YOU moved to their Country.
So, exactly how did determine they weren’t born here? There are a lot of Americans who listen to music in Spanish. Were they listening to Tejano, Banda, Norteño, Reggeton?

This has nothing to do with what the otlriginal thread or this one brought up...BUT at least if you are going to crank your music get a decent sound system and some sound deadening mat put in your vehicle! It seems to me that when someone wants to crank their music it always seems to be in a vehicle that is about to rattle apart with a Krayco sound system from Auto Zone! If you are going to make me listen to your crappy rap, tejano or bro country the least you can do is make it sound good!

I've been in other countries and just learn what the locals do. Being a jerk tends to mean being a jerk in most cultures... pretty sure the only reason big parties like the aforementioned aren't a problem usually in south america and mexico is it's usually an inclusive party. The party i attended in paraguay on a mission trip, they invited the neighbors within ear shot, so if you wanted to stay home and complain about music instead of eating food, your problem lol. Big difference between that and folks bothering others publicly. I'd have the same reaction even if the neighbors were playing music i liked if it was obnoxious.

Most other countries urge their civilians to learn English, just not The USA

If you moved to another country and blared music in public, the main issue wouldn’t be that it’s in English, it’s that you’re being rude. That clearly wasn’t the main issue for the poster in the other thread. I don’t think giving up the music you grew up listening to should be a prerequisite for moving to America, but obviously you should learn the language, and be respectful. The reason he came off as racist is because he was acting super ****** about having to listen to tejano music, and tried to act like blaring loud music is a Mexican thing. I can’t go through the inner city without having my truck rattled by someone’s rap, I’ve had my ears blown out by country plenty of times by neighbors, and usually at the beach I mostly hear crappy pop music or rock played way louder than it needs to be. Every race and ethnicity has people that play their music too loud. Blaring music is about as American as it gets, to be honest. This guy wasn’t mad about music, that was just the excuse he came up with to gripe about Mexicans, and the underlying message of his post was louder than any “music” he was complaining about.
Well said bud. I’m right there with you.
